We supply 3 different types of wooden flooring. Laminate, hardwood or solid wood flooring.
Laminate
Laminate floor is made from MDF with a veneer coating. It can range from 6mm to 13mm in thickness. Laminate wooden flooring has a very thin wear thickness and it is not possible to sand and revarnish laminate wooden flooring.
Hardwood
Hardwood floor is made up from 3 different layers of wood. The bottom layer is ply wood, the middle layer is softwood and the top layer is solid wood. Hardwood floors can be finished in either lacquer, brush and oil or handscraped resulting in a very different texture, finish and look to every single hardwood floor available. Hardwood floors range from 13mm to 20mm in thickness and are available in 2 strip, 3 strip, 5 strip or as single planks. Hardwood floors have a 3mm wear layer and on some floors it may be possible to sand and revarnish hardwood floors once.
Solid
Solid wooden flooring is made up of 1 single piece of wood. Solid woods range form 15mm to 26mm in thickness. Solid wood floors are fitted as single planks to resemble real wooden floors. Solid is the most hardwearing and long lasting wood for your home as it can be sanded down and re-varnished many times. Solid wooden flooring, like hardwood, can have many different finishes and textures as well as different width and length boards.
